Any arguments for keeping Yum case-sensitive?

Yum doesn't work with tarballs.

That is nationalism. Any time ego is involved people will be made to
suffer. Fortunately, Stallman had the foresight to give us an easy way
out: the right to repackage with a different name that fits the
distro's naming conventions.
