Fedora 16 killed my eth0 ?

Yep, a clue would be nice.

I compared /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules
with lspci | grep -i eth
and with /dev/.udev/db/net:eth?

and could not see a common thread to tie them together (and hence guess 
what to symlink with)
