the biosdevname package that caused it to generate
different "fixed" names than it previously generated.

So much for the stated goal of the project...

It really would make vastly more sense to have
retained support for the persistent-net rules
generation while using biosdevname to provide
the initial names recorded in the file.

That way, if I wanted a different name, I
could edit the file and get it.
