using mirrors in Fedora 14

You need to look at the system logs or "dmesg" after a drive drops out
and see what has been logged as the reason. It's most likely a hardware
problem such as a marginal cable or insufficient power.

Whatever the cause software or hardware the criticial bit is what ended
up in the logs when it happened.
