Stuck and Frustrated : Try to get from Live CD to Desktop system Fedora 16.

Hi:

I used to be able to get from a rescue disk to my system with a chroot
command.  Been trying all morning to get from my live cd into my desktop
root to make repairs.  I have tried every thing I can think of.  My
system is tantalizingly close.  I can see it, but I can't get to it.  

What should I be doing?

For some reason I am getting a warning that my root directory is full.
Thought I had fixed it.  Apparently not.  So now I need to get at it
from the Live CD, ???
