Power-off stupidity remains in Gnome 3

I'll go farther than that: when I "upgraded" my laptop to F16, the first
time I logged in it defaulted to Gnome instead of Xfce for some reason.
As soon as I saw what had happened, I logged back out and tried again,
making sure I selected the proper DE. That's the closest I've ever come
to trying Gnome 3. From all I've read about it, it doesn't do what I
want and would force me to do things in ways I don't like. Thus, I'm
not part of the target audience.

And, I'm not ranting about Gnome 3 itself, I'm objecting to the apparent
attitude of the Gnome devs as they seem to be completely indifferent to
what anybody who's not a dev wants. If you like Gnome 3, great; use it
and be happy. I'm just pointing out that nobody's forcing anybody to
use it who doesn't like it.
