Fedora and the horrible EDID checksum issue with various video cards

Yeah, I can do that, I was kinda hoping for something definitive though. 
  I don't mind doing it, but this thing has been a PITA for almost a 
year now and no one seems to be able to find a way to fix it.  Or if it 
has, the patch is still upstream for some reason.
