Does the nouveau kernel module support 3D video hardware acceleration?

But performance of nvidia driver is much higher than nouveau.  This seems mostly 
due to nvidia will change clock speeds dynamically, which nouveau doesn't 
support this, and clocks stay at bios defaults.
