how to remove Gnome and leave or install KDE?

last week I tried to install the ubuntu 12.0.1-Server. I was tried
of having the new bootloader mess up my loading fedora. The CD
asked me some questions that my F-17 CD did not ask, then it said
to reboot. I did and without any load errors, it booted into
what appeared to be Ubuntu. After loading the new files and being
directed to reboot again, it loaded at fedora 17. Since then I've
had no problems with the UEFI loader.

I *did* have to get port 22 working to ssh into my desktop, and
other odds and end. Unlike ubuntu, I couldn't play a DVD movie
without adding some disallowed packages. Etc.... But for my last
trick, I want to get rid of gnome and install the kde desktop.
I have konsole installed because I hate that flashing cursor in
"terminal"... so I have several KDE libraries. What is the safe
command to remove gnome? [there are a bunch of gnome utilities I
use, but for the most part, I prefer the other desktop.

	thanks for some clues!
