Once again: is it a keyring password? What does the dialogue box say
exactly?

poc
Roughly it says:
Enter the passwd for the user person2
(user akonstam at sbcgloblaa.net host: pop.att.yahoo.com)
Passwd ...........................................
O Enter passwd into your keyring

But when I run seahorse I see no passwd in the keyring.
