Moving Thunderbird Mail from WindowsXP to Fedora18

this is a major mistake because now you have two profiles with messages
people are moving their profile folder between machines and different OS'es

you can reuse your whole TB profile which includes account-settings as well
as all extisting mails - "~/.thunderbird/profiles.ini" contains the folder
which the current profile, in my case a fixed path on a different disk

no idea how to merge the profiles
maybe move all the new messages to a IMAP server and replace the
whoe linux-tb-profile with the windows ones is the best solution
