I too use Thunderbird for all my accounts (I have lots!) I have three 
sub-folders under my GMail "Inbox" that I filter for 
CEntOS.....Fedora....and PCLinux mailing lists. I have no problem seeing 
anything I've sent/received from any of my e-mail accounts...
