Yikes! Keyboard screwed in NX session

Does anyone have any clues why my NX session would be
doing all sorts of wacky mapping of my keyboard?

I've just told my remote system to reboot into fedora 17
so I can get work done remotely (I hope).

My arrow keys were set to some sort of asian character
shift modes or something, other keys have wacky
defs as well.

I've never told the system I had anything other than
a US English keyboard. Where might NX be getting
this wacky idea?
