texlive is an empty rpm that has lots of subpackages, this happens also
for other packages. Nothing new here. :-)

If you want to install all the texlive packages (not including the
documentation packages) you can install them with

yum install texlive-scheme-full

other schemes are

texlive-scheme-basic
texlive-scheme-context
texlive-scheme-gust
texlive-scheme-medium
texlive-scheme-minimal
texlive-scheme-small
texlive-scheme-tetex
texlive-scheme-xml

It works really well. :-)
