I haven't used SMB for a very long time, but off the top of my head, you
need to check these things:

      * check your IPs and hostnames are correct, and unless Samba is
        configured to use DNS or host files to resolve names, it uses
        other methods, which can take some time to work.
      * check the syntax of the command line, and the fstab entries
      * check the SMB server is started and is configured to allow
        clients to connect on your network
      * check the firewall isn't getting in the way
      * check SELinux isn't prohibiting the server
