Don't have a Brother Laser or Win7, but
do  have HP gear, and Win 8.1 pro
(Win Users spend money ; on simple things )

1: 
ping the printer? (run;cmd)
default is 4 pings if non-admin.

2:  
Control Panel > Administrative Tools >
Microsoft > Windows > PrintService
check events

3: 
Control Panel >
device and printers >
Highlight the Brother >
along the top
"See What's printing"
Have a look, if no useful info, 
clear the queue at least.

3: Did Windows update his drivers?,
did it work before\after last win update.

4: Anti-virus? what, when updated last , it can affect net connectivity

Just some thing to look at
