I've actually done this before.  And it can be handy.  But for me, the
sheer terror of mucking with the NT boot loader kept me from doing it
more than once.  It was really just to say I did. And there is a trick
to it when using MBRs on different drives.  But I don't remember the
exact details (I did this before Win7 was released, God knows what
kind of funky voodoo magic would be needed with Win7 or 8.
