when I click on the red bell , the crash comes up and it shows the
bugzilla report there. and yes I added a comment to it. Running xfce I
got a better error report, that said to run
start-pulseaudio-x11
it crashed
$ start-pulseaudio-x11

which appears to be local. Probing deeper.


and /var/log/messages showed:
