I just rely on yum to do what's required. I did yum update earlier and
thought that was enough. Looked at the man page as you seem to suggest
and found yum check-update. That found about 30 updates, dunno if they
just came up today or were missed?
and it shows I am not running the latest kernel installed although it is
not offered on the boot menu? After another yum update:

# yum check-update
Loaded plugins: langpacks, refresh-packagekit
Security: kernel-3.16.6-200.fc20.x86_64 is an installed security update
Security: kernel-3.16.4-200.fc20.x86_64 is the currently running version

That seems to imply that I have a problem, yum update that kernel says
it's installed. Something else is missing perhaps?

Also tried:

# yum clean packages
Loaded plugins: langpacks, refresh-packagekit
Cleaning repos: adobe-linux-x86_64 fedora rpmfusion-free
rpmfusion-free-updates rpmfusion-nonfree rpmfusion-nonfree-updates updates
106 package files removed

Is there a list of things I need to do to maintain the yum processes?

Bob
