F22 - Xfce monitor mirroring

I had to reboot to get Android access working.

The login screen was Mirrored!  But...

Once logged in, it switched to external monitor only and mirroring is 
still greyed out.

So why did the login screen present mirrored but I can't get mirrored 
logged in?
