Cannot assign usb mouse or keyboard to qemu-kvm

Hello, i've been following this tutorial :

to get a working vga passthrough for my gaming vm, thing is when assigning
the display to my gpu i removed most of the hardware and now i am trying to
get the mouse and the keyboard on the vm by assigning a host usb device,
but it is not working, if anybody knows how to fix this any help would be
welcome, thanks (fedora 23)
