This looks identical to mine, except for fedora/rhel

Maybe the 'Issues with chronyc' section in the faq?

' $ netstat -a ' gives a long list which includes

udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:ntp             0.0.0.0:*

udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:mdns            0.0.0.0:*

udp        0      0 localhost:323           0.0.0.0:*

and

udp6       0      0 [::]:ntp                [::]:*

udp6       0      0 localhost:323           [::]:*
