What *exactly* have you tried?
Did you set the session in /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf or
in /etc/sysconfig/desktop?
Did you verify the path to /usr/bin/startxfce4 is correct?
Nothing in /var/log/lxdm.log?
Please also try with selinux=0 to make sure it's not SELinux.
