I noticed too on the live-CD that the poweroff/reboot etc. button in lightdm is empty when clicked. Regarding my adventure with thunar-volman, I installed it here (F17) and it worked... somewhat. My pendrive has a FAT32 and an small ext partition. With the live-CD it auto-mounted both, now it auto-mounted only the FAT partition :-p But I'm getting closer...
