Well...let's be reasonable.
You are not going to appropriate a GPO for Windows and honestly expect it
to run on a Linux box.
I think in context of the original question, that wasn't wrong in any way.

That's wrong! Starting with Samba 4.14 you can create GPOs for
Linux-Clients but the Linux-GPOs need winbind and it's not working with
sssd
