oprofile 은 리눅스 2.2/2.4 x86 시스템의 프로파일링 시스템입니다. 프로파일링은 백그라운드에서 보이지 않게
실행되며, 이 프로파일 데이터는 언제든지 수집할수 있습니다. oprofile 은 인텔의 P6 나  AMD Athlon 계열
프로세서들의 하드웨어 퍼포먼스 카운터,  다른 x86 프로세서 타입에서는 RTC 를 이용합니다.
