LAN Storage linux?

Hi all,

I just picked up a small external HD case which has, in addition to the
usual USB port a LAN port.  I'm wondering if anyone knows if these are linux
based devices?  (It sure would make sense to me that they would be)  This
one is called a "LAN store" which I got at geeks.com.
