This, in essence, is why Docs has largely stopped maintaining content for
doing things with GUIs.  Even minor discrepancies in the appearance of a
screenshot can destroy confidence, and screenshots cannot be translated or
made accessible.

Also, there are a lot of DEs and maintaining even simple things for each DE
on each release is a big burden.

Most distro 'review' sites don't do much more than show screenshots and
list the applications installed on the live image, so IMO this space is
well covered.  Let them have it. (not to discourage anyone that really
wants to do it ;)
