How about I see if I can get an ITIL dictionary.. they use predefined
definitions for most of these words.. that keeps us in line with other
organizations (*cough* RH *cough*) and also make it an easier drop-in.
I think they go with:
client device [desktop, other server, ipod]
user [ a person who uses the service provided]
customer [ a person who pays for the service provided]
server device [router, laptop running spacewalk, etc]
services [ RHN, HTTPD, cobbler, func, moin, etc]
service owner [ person who has responsibility on the business interest
of a service]
service administrator [ person who has responsibility on the technical
interest of a service]
but I could be confusing it with 20 or so more books I have read over
the last year.
