Relying on Internet Connectivity for Talks

Always avoid relying on internet connections at conference venues, it's
hit and miss, and you do not want to have your talk ruined by missing
network connectivity.
Given the nature of my talk, I'd really like to use internet
connectivity via either an ethernet cable or Wi-Fi:

As a backup, I could just connect to a VM running locally. But it
wouldn't show the WAN performance, which is a subject of my talk.
