Max number of users

The only limit I am aware of are the ID and DNA ranges.

These are really good points.

What are you going to do with the answer? Are you trying to determine
the maximum capacity for some reason? Just curious?

Because all IPA users are POSIX there is an absolute max value, 2^31
(2147483648). But I doubt you're looking to add 2 billion users, right?

I unfortunately can't tell you why for professional reasons, but it's certainly
less than 2 billion users!
