Few changes and questions
by Vratislav Podzimek
Hi everybody,
I have made some minor changes in the wiki I'd like to let you know
about.
==syntaxFormats==
I have removed the </source> tag from the XML syntax example as it was
making the example invalid.
==sampleXML==
I have removed some duplicate words and added some missing in the
comments and I've also fixed indentation of the <p:app>Tomcat</p:app>
line.
While reading the wiki, few questions came to my mind:
1) XML syntax example in the syntaxFormats section has <cee> as the root
element. But Lumberjack XMLSchema has <Log> as root element. Where does
this come from? It is quite confusing.
2) In the sampleXML, there is a part that is stated to have elements
only from the BaseTypes group. However it includes <p:op> and
<p:results> which cannot be found in the Lumberjack XMLSchema (although
they can be found in the bindings sources). Am I misunderstanding what
is meant by BaseTypes here? The same goes for the Common Criteria
example.
Thanks,

question about field names
by David Lang
In working with the Simple Event Correlator developers on ways to support
lumberjack style logs in that tool, an interesting question was raised
about legal field names.
Is it legal for a field name to start with a number?
It's very common for languages to have rules about variable names that
prohibit this, and in the case of SEC, it allows for some nice
optimizations.
As far as I know, no currently contemplated field names would violate this
rule.
thoughts?
