Cannot install from custom dvd spin
by Hax0r
Hi all,
I have build a dvd spin with the help of revisor. But when I boot that it
asks me the installation method , if I select local CD/DVD it says no Fedora
disc found. The message in the terminal is:
"failed to mount loopback device /dev/loop0 on /mnt/runtime as
/mnt/stage2/images/install.img: mount: unknown filesystem type vfat"
Out of curiosity I tried other installation methods like the URL one and it
asks me for the driver of my network card, I provided the correct driver
still it asks me about the driver, the error in terminal says:
FATAL: Module index corrupt: Bad magic number
Try re-running depmod
It took me 2 days to get this spin because i am on a slow internet
connection. I don't have the guts to make a new spin though I have the copy
of the packages which were downloaded. If somehow I can fix this existing
spin it will be of great help.
Also as discussed on #fedora and myself wasting 1 day finding the correct
list URL i would like to point out that the Mailing list URL specified on
the following 2 pages don't work. If someone could fix that it will be of
real help to others too:

I think Revisor can, yes. If all these actions you perform can be
performed using just the shell, then all commands needed to make it so
will need to go into a %post section of the kickstart file.
Also note that with the copy_dir setting, Revisor allows you to specify
the root of a directory tree on the composing host's filesystem that'll
be copied over the root directory of the soon-to-be live system. This
way you can copy in the files (such as drivers, new xorg.conf and the FF
plugin).
The %post script in kickstart is supposed to be executed *after* the
copying of files from the host composing the image onto the filesystem
of the image, and so in %post you should be able to use the files you
copied in.

I would recommend creating an RPM package for the touchscreen drivers,
yes, but it's not an absolute requirement.

Could you let me know the following details:
- what version of Revisor are you using?
- what is the architecture of the composing host?
and, could you send me the revisor.log file (gzipped, please ;-))

I've received it, thank you.
Looking at the output (line 73029, do vi +73029 /path/to/logfile) you
can see the buildinstall phase fails due to packages not being available
for download from the repositories configured. A few lines up, on 72981
for example, you can see that this is due to proxy errors on
download.fedoraproject.org. This is beyond Revisor's or your control,
and should be resolved automatically after a while by the Fedora Project
Infrastructure team.

PAE kernel by default?
by mad
Hi!
Is there a possibility to create an installation DVD with revisor, where the
default kernel is a PAE kernel?
What I did so far is, include the PAE kernel in the kickstart file and adapt
grub in the %post part with grubby.
Is there an easier/better method?
Thanks in advance
