Hi,
here are three patches for the build system:
0001: Adds the --with-os option to configure and tries to figure out if
we are building on Fedora, RHEL or SUSE if this option is missing. The
result is currently only used to determine if we want to install the
SUSE init script.
Ack.
0002: This patch makes the packaging of *.egg-info files platform
independent.
Ack.
0003: This patch changes the spec file to make it work on SUSE. I am
not
sure if we want to include it, because it might be a bit of a burden for
people adding new 'Requires' to figure out if they are available on SUSE
and how they are named.
Nack.
I think we really need to start separating out the spec files for
different OSes.
Now that we have the --with-os option, I'd suggest we use that to
determine which spec file to use. These are acknowledged to be a contrib
feature, so if SUSE falls out of sync, a SUSE maintainer can provide the
necessary patch to fix it.
bye,
Sumit
