I always just give it some random iso to make it happy, and
then when it asks about disk image, use the pick existing
disk option and browse local to point at the image.
Once it starts booting to do the "install", I just use force off,
make sure the random iso image I gave it is no longer mounted,
then boot from the disk.
For what it is worth, there is a RFE to support import of existing disk
images in virt-manager - Fedora bug #542829 [1].
There is also virt-install's --import option if you were not aware of
it.
