Yes.I am using EL 6.3 with the EPEL6 version of 389-ds-base.
I believe that 1.2.10.12 is the latest version available on EPEL6. Really appreciate if you can update it. 

This problem doesn't exist on 1.2.11.14 on Fedora 17 that I just tried.
