Job summary

Red Hat's Fedora Quality Assurance team is looking for a Quality Engineer to act as a new community coordinator and continue the work of engaging the Fedora community in Fedora's quality assurance work. In this role, you will search new features and develop test plans; develop, review, and maintain automated test scripts and test cases (both manual and automatic); implement automated test scripts, and analyze and summarize the testing results. This position is a great opportunity to learn the latest open source technology while creating innovative solutions to problems. You'll need to be enthusiastic about Fedora, Linux, and F/OSS software in general, and know how to get others excited about it too. 

Primary job responsibilities

    Promote Fedora QA's activities to the Fedora community and the wider Linux and F/OSS communities, and help community members engage with Fedora QA processes
    Improve and extend Fedora's QA processes and activities to maintain and improve their openness and accessibility to the community
    Take part directly in Fedora QA activities

Required skills

    Solid foundation and presence in F/OSS software communities, e.g. long-term active involvement in one or more F/OSS projects
    Experience using typical F/OSS collaboration systems like mailing lists, Bugzilla, IRC, trac, and web forums
    Excellent communication skills, especially acting as an intermediary between Red Hat staff and the Fedora volunteer community
    Quality assurance experience
    Experience in community management is an advantage
