Have you tried to become a co-maintainer? I don't see any requests for
commit access:

Gérard said four years ago that he was short on time and would be glad
if people would take over his packages:

I actually thought all of his packages had been orphaned in November of
2010, at which time I became the owner of GtkAda:

Perhaps he took back some that no one else wanted at the time.
