I am sorry for the delay in the answer but I took a while to find the exact 
reference I have followed. The original message from Rex that lead me to fix 
the problem was this

Since I have fixed the problem I do not recall any more the exact steps but it 
was something like this:

I ran gnome-keyring-manager (I had to install it first) and then I changed the 
input method to login. From then on it was no longer necessary to prompt the 
password every time the wireless password are necessary.
