Here's a review of the broffice.org spin concept;

== Name ==

The name of the spin very clearly expresses it's purpose.

== Feature Page ==

As expressed on the fedora-devel mailing list, there's some concerns or
confusion about the BrOffice.org vs. OpenOffice.org branding, which may
need some more clarification (wrt. this particular spin and it's
purpose) on the Feature Page as to avoid concerns/confusion on the path
to approval by the Board and by FESCo/Release Engineering as a feature.

No matter how viable the arguments are, or how speculative solutions may
be, or what concerns exist for the installation media distributed, this
spin very likely conforms to any requirements made by law in Brazil, and
emphasizes the very purpose of creating custom spins in both including a
special piece of software available in Fedora, as well as localization.

== Kickstart ==

The kickstart looks clean, and is approved in principle.

The Spin SIG however will have some subsequent considerations to make
about packages that may or may not be excluded. In the BrOffice.org
spin, the following packages are excluded:

acpid
authconfig
tomboy

and, although commented out, there's an additional exclude for sendmail.

Some of these packages may or may not belong to what one could call a
"good decent" Fedora default, although this is a minor issue.

== Media Size ==

Yesterday's spin as well as today's resulted in a 740M iso image, a
little over size for a CD version of this spin (~690-700M maximum). This
needs to be reduced, preferably in advance of the Beta.

== Spin is Localized ==

Since the Spin is localized, the guidelines or ideas as to how a spin
should look and it's default settings doesn't apply.

== Next Steps ==

Noted the suggestions in the review, the next steps in getting this spin
in the release cycle is to have:

1) The Board approve the trademark usage

Submit the spin, an abstract, the kickstart and our approval to the
fedora-advisory-board mailing list.

2) FESCo, who has delegated the task to Release Engineering, approve the
spin to be included as a Feature. This step comes after the Board
approves trademark usage.

Submit the spin, an abstract, the kickstart, our approval, the board's
approval to the rel-eng mailing list at lists.fedoraproject.org.

Remember the deadline for all this is August 19th.

Kind regards,
