Oh, I never heard of that one.

Hit any key to show the boot menu, then TAB to edit. Select the kernel
to boot with the arrow keys, then press E. Add s to the line that starts
with kernel=... Finally hit ENTER and B to boot. Your system will then
boot into single user level, you get a shell where you can change the
root password with the command passwd. The password for the user can be
changed after switching to the user with su <username>.
