Similar to the screenshots in comment#114,only without subpixel rendering.

This shows rendering for Liberation Sans 1.07
using 

rgba=none
hinting=true
autohint=false

always and compares the results for

hintstyle={hintfull,hintmedium,hintslight,hintnone}

hintfull uses the byte code interpreter for sharp rendering.

The results for hintmedium, hintslight, and hintnone are all
identical, all fuzzy.
