FC4 ethernet printing

Mac G4 AGP 450 with 1 gig memory, built-in ethernet, ZIP and internal 56k
modem. 

Is it possible to connect a LW16/600 printer using an Apple Talk network? I
use a Farallon EtherWave adapter.  And if so, any pointers or directions?
CUPS installation only talks about USB and parallel.

As a home user I am not familiar with all of the terms nor do I know what to
put in all the boxes.

I also recieve the message:
aty128fb: Invalid ROM signature 1111 should be 0xaa55.

I understand this to be connected to the ATI 128 Rage video card. Should I
be concerned? Is there a patch. It may take a few cold restarts to get my
computer to boot.

A relative stubborn newbe and a long time mac user.
