up2date glibc

Hi

I just did a clean install of fedora core 1 onto my machine. Ive been trying
to update some of the default packages which appear in 'up2date --list'. I
updated ethereal fine using up2date ethereal, but im having trouble with
glibc. When i run 'up2date glibc' i get this:

Testing package set / solving RPM inter-dependencies...

There was some sort of I/O error: [Errno socket error] (-2, 'Name or service
not known')

and it drops back to the bash shell.

What's going wrong?
