NVIDIA driver *taints* kernel???

Look I am no expert either, but it the freezing is probably just the
agpgart and is easy to work around.
in the driver section of the xoerg.conf just add a line
Option "NvAGP" "1"
see the nvidia's README near the bottom of the doc.
