haldaemon polling non-existant drives

All,
Withing the last 2 days, my syslog messages file has been filling up
with these messages. I have clipped a snippet that shows the haldaemon
trying to access non-existent SCSI drives. This kicks off at seeming
random times during a session. I cannot find anything that appears to
set this off. It does not happen immediately upon boot up, and we can
go several hours before this begins. So far I have been able to stop
this by stopping the haldaemon. Can anyone shed some light on this? I
am running 2.6.11-1.14_FC3 on an AMD 2000+ with 1GB RAM 2 IDE drives, A
CD-RW and a combination floppy/digital media device. Thanks.
