Apache / Nagios - 403 error problem

Okay, but would this not just break the configuration? 
Nagios daemon should not start - could just turn the daemon off instead... but that is not a solution to the problem ;)

Try moving nagois.conf out of the /etc/httpd/conf.d/ folder, or just
renaming it to anything that doesn't end in *.conf.

Just a guess - I was messing around w/nagois yesterday on Centos 5...
