Well... I'm running F11 with acroread and KDE 4.4.1.
If I start acroread the links do not appear. As soon as I choose
"Print" the links appear. It matters not that I actually print.
An "strace -e trace=file" shows it creating the files....
[egreshko at meimei ~]$ grep 4bc58 acro.trace
symlink("/etc/cups/ppd/hp_2510.ppd", "/tmp/4bc58d6279ba2") = 0
open("/tmp/4bc58d6279ba2", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 18
symlink("/etc/cups/ppd/hp_2510.ppd", "/tmp/4bc58d62a0d9c") = 0
open("/tmp/4bc58d62a0d9c", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 18
symlink("/etc/cups/ppd/hp_2510.ppd", "/tmp/4bc58d62a1c0e") = 0
open("/tmp/4bc58d62a1c0e", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 18
