no way to dist-downgrade without re-install
but what exactly are your problems?

i am working at a F18 workstation with a lot of servcies and
KDE as desktop, Firefox, Thunderbird and mostly ZendStudio
as also VMware Workstation since weeks without major troubles
on a machine upgraded from F14->F15->F16->F17->F18 with yum
and the clone of it is working as router/firewall/vpn-gateway
and WLAN-AP with hostapd

this way i avoided the pain of alpha-quality anaconda which
is the only weak part of F18

nobody can help you if you do not desribe any of your problems
your post contains ZERO information, really ZERO

is your problem the cuurent GNOME3?
is your problem a closed source graphics crap?

what does not work for you???
