what has 'yum update' done?

Sounds cool, I just installed


yum-plugin-changelog
yum-plugin-merge-conf


and will see what they do.  There's also
'yum-plugin-post-transaction-actions' --- couldn't that be used to send
emails with information about what changed when a package is updated?
